Request the Dolores cabin — it sits closest to the hot springs and has the most character of any in the property, with a soaking tub that feels almost absurdly indulgent given you're in a restored ghost town at 9,000 feet. Soak in the springs just after sunset when the last light drains from the peaks and the steam catches the blue hour; it's the single best moment here, bar none. At dinner, don't sit at the edges of the communal table — lean into it, center seats foster the kind of unhurried conversation this place was built for. There's no cell service, so tell people before you arrive. You won't miss it by day two.
