What we love about this stay
Get yourself onto that hanging daybed before 6:30 a.m. — the desert light shifts from violet to amber in minutes, and with the creek barely audible below, it's the most still you'll feel all trip. Stock up at the Joshua Tree Farmers Market before you arrive; the chef's kitchen here deserves better than gas station provisions, and cooking a slow dinner with the arched doorways open to the night air is half the point. For sleeping, claim the bedroom closest to the back deck — you can slip into the hot tub after dark without waking anyone, and the star visibility from that corner of the property is absurd.
