Where Park City's storied Main Street meets the trailhead
Reserve this StayAbode at Big Game Lodge | Main St + Hiking/Biking
The approach is unmistakable. Main Street rises through the heart of old Park City, its storefronts and galleries stacked along the hillside like a living timeline of silver-mining ambition turned mountain-town charm. Abode at Big Game Lodge sits right along this corridor, a handsome timber-and-stone residence that feels both rooted in the town's history and quietly apart from it. Step inside, and the scale shifts from the bustle of the street to something warmer and more composed: vaulted ceilings, natural wood finishes, and windows that frame the surrounding peaks with the kind of ease that only comes from a building that knows exactly where it belongs.
The lodge operates as a private residence, offering the full run of the home to those who book it. Interiors are anchored by rustic mountain craftsmanship, with exposed beams, stone accents, and furnishings that favor comfort over contrivance. Common areas are generous enough for a group to gather without crowding, while bedrooms provide genuine retreat when the day's adventures are done. A fully equipped kitchen invites communal cooking after a long day on the trails or slopes, and the living spaces are designed for lingering, whether around the fireplace or over a slow morning coffee. The overall atmosphere is that of a well-loved mountain home rather than a staged rental, a place where the details have been considered but never overthought.
Location is perhaps the lodge's most defining feature. Positioned directly on Main Street, you are steps from Park City's most celebrated restaurants, independent shops, and galleries. The town's cultural life unfolds just outside the door, from seasonal festivals and art walks to the electric energy of the Sundance Film Festival each January. And yet the lodge's proximity to hiking and biking trails means that wilderness is never far. In warmer months, trailheads for some of the region's most rewarding rides and hikes are accessible on foot or by a very short drive. In winter, the mountains open up for skiing, with world-class resorts within easy reach.
Abode at Big Game Lodge occupies a rare position: a residence that delivers the privacy and character of a mountain retreat while sitting squarely in the middle of one of the West's most vibrant small towns. The rhythm here shifts with the seasons and with your own appetite for adventure or stillness. You might spend the morning climbing singletrack through aspen groves and the evening on Main Street, wandering between dinner and a nightcap. Or you might never leave the lodge at all, content with the view, the fire, and the particular quiet that settles over the mountains after dark. It is the kind of place that rewards both ambition and idleness in equal measure, and leaves you wondering how a home so close to everything can still feel so entirely your own.

What we love about this stay
There's something about a place that stacks its intimacy vertically — living space on two, bedrooms on three, and then that master suite up on the fourth floor, where Old Town spreads out beneath you and the fireplace flickers without anyone else around. Big Game Lodge sits a block off Main Street in Park City's Upper Woodside, but it doesn't feel like a rental playing at being a home. It feels like someone's deeply considered mountain house, from the gourmet kitchen built for actual cooking to the lower-level media room that quietly becomes everyone's favorite corner. The hot tub under open sky after a long day on the mountain isn't a novelty — it's the exhale the whole place is designed around.
